I'm Kyle, amateur mixer. My work is based mostly on games, though I dip in and out of originality as a break every so often. Mixing is my primary way to waste time, but I write plenty of fan fiction as well, which is available at the website below. :-)

Score: 7
Verin - Decisive Battle

"Definitely praise-worthy!"

date: December 7, 2007

You nailed the melody parts and you have some nice layering in there. And I like the bass part.

Future work: try adding more layers, and try not to push the bass too low to the point where the notes aren't recognizable. Play with pitch (higher, lower, yadda yadda).

But very nicely done, friend. :)

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind for the next one.

"... I am so shamed.."

Jebus Murphy, boy! Talk about putting fellow audio artists to shame!

"Didn't spend much time on this song"

...

People like you ought to be publicly humiliated.

Awesome job dude. :-P

Verin - Lufia Fortress of Doom

"Very nice, Lord Dan. :)"

date: November 26, 2007

I give this a 9/10 and a 4/5 because that's a HELL of a long way you've come with FL since last we spoke. I like this a lot! And you'll have to tell me what samples you used, I'm eager to have these sorts of effects around my stuff - sure I can do certain things, but I have yet to capture the ambiance that yours has.

Meanwhile, next steps: you need more volume on your guitar samples. The background is excellent, but the main melody needs to ring out a bit more.

Nicely done, my friend. And don't give people false hope about my mix, just in case it's a flop. :P

Author's Response:

Your mix will be great.
Yes I am a fast learner, and I'll let you know the samples I use when I speak with you next. I was wondering about the volume, but to be honest, if I had the main melody up any higher, you couldn't hear the background melody, which happens to be my favourite part.

"Chrono Trigger" F-777 remix

"Very nice!"

date: November 6, 2007

I like it a lot! It kinda reminds me of the end credits of Super Mario RPG, actually.

It has a nice flow to it - I like the main sample you used. It's mystical, gentle and very relaxing.

Nicely done! And I'm sorry it took me so long to get to looking at your stuff. >_<

Wild Arms Quarter Knights

"Very cool, very cool!"

date: October 24, 2007

Well, I can't tell a lie, but I like it a lot!

It definitely seems to repeat itself, though - I've never played the game so that might be my imagination, but try and add your own original touches and in's and out's for your next mix.

Or, that could just be me and my OCR-wannabe attitude. :P

Author's Response:

lol no it only repeats 2 times. no more. Glad ya like it though ^^

Zelda's Lost Wood Remix

"Interesting."

date: October 14, 2007

Hmm, not bad. I didn't mind it.

Tips for improvement: Maybe a little heavy on the bass, and maybe a little tinny with the upper notes. Try and bring it down a bit and emphasize the main parts a little more.

But other than that, nice work! I like the ambient feel to it.

Daniel's Beat

"Wow..."

submission: Daniel's Beat
date: October 11, 2007

Daniel my friend! Such an excellent start to what could have been a great audio creator's career! Why on earth don't you have anything else up?

Granted it was a little repetitive, but for a first ever track it was intensely awesome, a lot better than my own token of that fame (Wave LR).

Me likey lots. :)

Author's Response:

Lol, I thought I might find a review here.
It's not that I don't really want to. I haven't the programs and samples needed to start anything.
I had to use freaking garage band to make that crap and it was a terrible mess.
I did the best I could, and the end result was acceptable at best.
Perhaps I'll try and get myself something to work with some time.
